Selfish is an ongoing series of digital self-portraits playing with identity, narcissism, and the lingering angst of adolescence as it bleeds into adulthood. Beginning as a way to find comfort in my own image, the series quickly evolved into an exploration of self-reflection and performance. The portraits combine realism with surreal, often chaotic and saturated detailing to both conceal and expose. Selfish allows me to be self-indulgent — to broadcast and acknowledge my flaws, to revel in moments when I’m feeling moody, miserable, sexy, or just desperate for attention.
